==== Origin of the map ====

Forgotten, previously called Village, is a Minecraft Village themed map with a small cave space under the map.

The original use of the map was for the Mob Arena game mode, but later found use in McInfected.

Originally the map had an open roof and lots of light but was later changed to have a darker tone which helped to make the small map feel bigger than it actually was.

The map has seen use on almost all servers that LadyHaley has created, including Gaytopia.

In December of 2019, LadyHaley took the map and updated it to better reflect the 1.14 plains villages. This included updating the church and forge, and replacing the other 4 houses with various designs from the 1.14 update. The well was replaced with a bell, another nether portal was added behind the church and the portal in the cave will teleport the player to the one behind the church, you cannot enter through the one behind the church.

In October of 2023 it was further modified by Lady Haley to expand the underground cave area to have two more entry points from the surface, some more running space, the mineshaft underground was expanded slightly, an amethyst geode was added, more ores were added, the vanilla dungeon was detailed to have a bit more shape and displace some more visual variety, mainly in the form of ware and tear, and also with a tiny mob spawner with particles coming out of it. The roof of the map was replaced with black concrete, with nether starts placed throughout to represent the night sky, along with a glowing imitation of the moon. More light was added around the map in general.

The mob arena gameplay of the map became much more focused on a unique experience. You start with basic tools and armor, that will soon break on you. using emeralds that drop from mobs, and their own mob drops, you can trade with a Trader NPC for crafting materials to smelt and craft new tools and items to further help progress the map. Potion brewing and item enchanting is available to you, helping to last longer. The only non vanilla mobs on this arena are the boss mobs, there's the Swol Pillager, who works mainly like an iron golem, and then the Necromancer which summons other zombies, can do a sweeping knockback attack, can turn invisible, and will run away from you, while he recharges his zombie summons. You can purchase iron golems from the wandering trader to fight for you.
