Here you will find a collection of questions that get frequently asked of staff.

==== How do I get whitelisted? ====

Fill out the pinned template in #introductions in our discord server and you will be whitelisted by a staff member after that. Check the pinned msgs for a template. At least include how you identify, your age or just if you are a minor or adult, and your Minecraft Username. Make sure your Minecraft Username/IGN is for the Java version of the game and that it is spelt correctly.

==== How long does whitelisting take? ====

Whitelisting should not take more than 24 hours. If it has been more than 24 hours, use the @staff tag in #ask-staff and ask to be whitelisted and mention its been more than 24 hours.

==== What version of Minecraft can I use? ====

As of 25/06/2023, Gaytopia runs on 1.20.1 on java edition. You can connect with Java Edition 1.19.4 and 1.20.1

==== I just donated, how do I get my roles? ====

Secondly, once you have done that, leave a msg in #ask-staff or #donator-chat and a staff member will give you your rank in game when they have some time.

==== How do I install Optifine? ====

You will need to download Optifine from the following link Make sure you download OptiFine 1.20.1 HD U I5 or newer, I put direct a download here so you don't have to deal with ads: [[http://optifine.net/adloadx?f=OptiFine_1.20.1_HD_U_I5.jar|http://optifine.net/adloadx?f=OptiFine_1.20.1_HD_U_I5.jar]]

==== Why am I seeing purple & black boxes? ====

You are trying to use one or more of our resource packs without Optifine, the purple boxes are custom models that are not supported by Vanilla Minecraft.

==== I set my color in #color-set Why can I not see it? ====

If you still have the newbie rank, it wont show up until you are whitelisted, if that doesn't help, try posting a new msg to see if that shows the changes.

==== How do I downgrade my Minecraft version? ====

Here is a video tutorial.

When a new version of Minecraft comes out the server cannot update right away due to needing to wait for plugins to update to the latest release. This means that sometimes, you will need to use a different Minecraft version other than the latest release, the former is a video on how to use an older version.

==== How do I manually install the Gaytopia Resource Pack? ====

There are two download links for the resource pack, one with gun sound effects, and one without them. If the sound of guns is upsetting to you then please download the one without gun sounds. You do not need these resource packs but they add models and textures for wants, mobs, armor, weapons, guns, vehicles and more!!!

==== Is Keep Inventory Turned on? ====

Yes, the server isn't called Gaytopia for nothing, Keep Inventory is for the gays!!!!!!
